ABOUT

Vincent Paris is a native of Cornas. He inherited most of his vines (some of which are 100 years old) from his grandfather and also rents vines from his uncle the legendary Cornas vigneron Robert Michel. The biodynamically farmed vines, which are located in various parcels along the southeast facing Cornas slope, total approximately 17 hectares. Vincent’s wines exhibit power, yet possess a determined freshness to them. His Granit 30 and Granit 60 take their names from the slope and grade in the vineyards and average vine age respectively. His famed Geynale parcel is comprised exclusively of old vines planted in 1910. Vincent Paris is without a doubt one of the rising stars of the Rhone Valley.

The name of this wine, "30", references both the gradient slope of the vineyard as well as the average age of the vines.

TastingNotesMineral-driven aromas of ripe black/blue fruits, peony, olive and exotic spices on the nose. Sappy and focused on the palate, offering gently sweet, mineral-kissed cherry and blueberry flavors that deepen slowly with air and show sharp delineation. The blue fruit note drives an impressively long, spicy finish that's given subtle grip by fine-grained, even tannins.
