Mal Bien Tobaxiche Victor&Emanuel Ramos Mezcal
ABOUT
ABOUT
Mal Bien Tobaxiche Mezcal is a small-batch spirit crafted with care and heritage by Victor and Emanuel Ramos, third- and fourth-generation mezcaleros from the Miahuatlán District of Oaxaca. This expression is made from 100% Tobaxiche—an agave variety belonging to the Karwinskii family, known for its elongated stalks and deep, earthy flavor.
The production process is entirely traditional. Mature Tobaxiche plants are slow-roasted underground using mesquite and encino wood, then milled by an ox-drawn stone tahona. Natural fermentation takes place in open-air sabino wood vats before being double-distilled in copper stills equipped with a refrescadera—a condenser that brings added elegance to the final distillate.
Bottled at around 54% ABV, this mezcal is powerful, expressive, and layered. It captures both the wild terrain of Miahuatlán and the precise craftsmanship of the Ramos family. This is not just mezcal—it’s a story in a bottle.
