2024 Breaking Bread Winery “Marmalade” North Coast Orange Wine
ABOUT
ABOUT
“Marmalade” 2024 takes Breaking Bread’s playful, low-intervention spirit and turns it into a glowing, copper-orange wine with texture, perfume, and unmistakable California brightness.
Organically farmed Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier are harvested early for freshness, then left on their skins for about a week—just enough time to build gentle tannin, deepen color, and pull out the citrus-peel spice that defines this cuvée.
Native yeasts carry a slow, cool fermentation in neutral puncheons. Five months on fine lees lend a creamy undertone, while the absence of fining or filtering keeps every aromatic nuance intact.
The result is both expressive and refreshing: dried apricot and tangerine oil drift over chamomile and ginger, with peach skin and herbal tea emerging on the palate. Bright acidity lifts the wine from start to finish, while a subtle phenolic nibble gives shape without weight.
“Marmalade” is bone-dry, vivid, and mouth-watering—an orange wine that stays joyful rather than heavy, and a natural pick for anyone who loves texture but still wants a clean, energetic finish.
