2024 Bodegas Los Bermejos Lanzarote Diego Seco
ABOUT
ABOUT
Los Bermejos’s Diego Seco 2024 is a striking white from the volcanic soils of Lanzarote, made entirely from the native Diego grape, also known as Vijariego. This variety thrives in the island’s sandy, ash-covered terrain where vines are planted in deep pits (hoyos) protected from harsh winds. Such extreme conditions create intensely flavored, high-acid fruit that translates into wines with remarkable clarity and energy.
The 2024 edition was fermented on native yeasts in stainless steel and aged briefly on its lees to build texture while keeping crisp freshness front and center. In the glass, it shows a pale straw hue and an expressive nose of citrus zest, white flowers, and sea spray. The palate balances juicy lemon and green-apple fruit with a vivid mineral thread and saline lift that evokes the nearby Atlantic. Bone-dry and refreshing, this wine captures Lanzarote’s volcanic spirit with both precision and ease.
