Le Fioraie’s hill-side parcels between Castellina and Radda endured the hot, arid 2022 growing season, yet their galestro shale and alberese limestone held precious moisture, ripening Sangiovese to plush concentration without sacrificing acidity.
Hand-picked in late September, the perfectly clean clusters were fully destemmed, then fermented on native yeasts in temperature-controlled concrete. Daily délestage coaxed deep color and supple tannin while keeping extraction gentle.
The young wine rested twelve months in large, neutral Slavonian casks, followed by three months in bottle. Oak influence remains a whisper—just enough to wrap the generous fruit in subtle cedar and sweet tobacco.
In the glass, vibrant black-cherry and ripe raspberry fruit mingle with dried rose, anise, and warm terra-cotta earth. Medium-plus body, 14 % abv, and Chianti Classico’s trademark acidity keep the palate lively; polished tannins frame a long, stony finish.
