ABOUT

La Lupa 2023 is a rosé with real swagger—Nicoletta Bocca’s saignée from biodynamic Dolcetto, brightened by a kiss of Gewürztraminer for perfume.
Fruit from high, breezy marl terraces above Dogliani bleeds off after a few hours on skins, capturing Dolcetto’s dark-berry soul and Gewürz’s exotic spice. Native yeasts handle a cool stainless ferment; five months on fine lees knit texture and amplify the wine’s orange-pink glow.
In the glass, crushed strawberry, blood-orange peel, and rosewater rocket from the rim, underpinned by saffron, white pepper, and damp sandstone. The palate is no lightweight: juicy raspberry and ripe nectarine ride a subtle tannic grip, while brisk acidity keeps the richness laser-focused. Bone-dry, 12 % abv, and bottled unfiltered with minimal SO₂, La Lupa drinks like a baby red—serve cool, not icy, and watch it loosen tongues at the table.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Blood-orange zest, strawberry compote, and rose petal drift over ginger, cardamom, and warm earth.

Palate: Lush raspberry, white-peach flesh, and red-currant zip glide across fine tea-like tannins and vibrant acidity.

Finish: Long, savory close echoes citrus oil, wild herb, and stony minerality, leaving the palate tingling.

FOOD PAIRING

Brilliant with charred octopus and Romesco, lamb kofta with yogurt-mint sauce, or aged robiola drizzled in lavender honey—the wine’s spicy aromatics, generous fruit, and lively structure elevate every boldly flavored bite.
