Double Oak is the first 5-year Wheel Horse release.

Aged for over 4.5 years in its original Char 4 oak barrels, the whiskey was re-casked into new Char 1 oak barrels for another 6 months of finishing.

Wheel Horse Double Oak 5-Year Bourbon is a limited-edition release from Wheel Horse Whiskey, crafted at the historic Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro, Kentucky. This expression marks the brand's first 5-year-old bourbon, showcasing a meticulous double oaking process. After aging for over four years in char #4 oak barrels, the bourbon is transferred to new char #1 oak barrels with extended air-seasoned staves for an additional six months, enhancing its rich, oak-forward flavor profile. Bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV) and non-chill filtered, it embodies the robust character and craftsmanship of Kentucky bourbon.

Nose: Rich aromas of chocolate-dipped toffee and freshly baked pound cake, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak.

Palate: A harmonious blend of demerara sugar and vanilla custard, leading to notes of dried cherries and cocoa, with a touch of spice enhancing the complexity.
