ABOUT

Even peatier than ‘The Peat Monster’, this whisky is massive in terms of intensity and complexity of flavor. It is brimming with multifaceted peatiness yet tempered with hints of fruit character and an underlying sweetness. The recipe is primarily sourced from the Pier Road distillery. The tempering single malt is from the Islay distillery in Port Askaig, with its more elegant, restrained peaty malt whisky. To add dimension, fruit character and an ethereal element, distillery added a small portion of malt from a much-loved distillery in the Northern Highlands village of Brora. They finished things off with just a touch of malt finished in French oak, providing a lovely underlying sweetness and richness.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Intense aromas of peat smoke, medicinal notes, and sea spray.
Undertones of ripe apples, vanilla, and a hint of dark chocolate.

Palate: Rich and full-bodied with flavors of smoked meats, iodine, and roasted nuts.
Complemented by sweet notes of caramel, dried fruits, and a touch of spice.

Finish: Long and smoky with lingering notes of peat and oak.
A warm and satisfying finish with hints of spice and dark chocolate.
