When you tell people that Spain has more land under vine than any other country, they’ll often scoff. Who, Spain? Yes, Spain. The Spanish are best known for the Rioja region, but in truth, there’s so much more: Ribera del Duero, Priorat, Albarino, Garnacha, Txakolina, Cava...the list goes on. Much of Spain’s wine growing takes place in dry, elevated regions, giving the wines a beautiful lift of acid that makes them the perfect pairings for tapas, brunch, holiday dinners, or special occasions.
