“I’m happy to release the first batch in the Booker’s Bourbon 2019 Collection, called Booker’s Batch 2019-01, “Teresa’s Batch.” My dad, Booker Noe, always trusted his gut when it came to good bourbon - and good people. “Teresa’s Batch” is an ode to Teresa Wittemer, a distillery employee Dad hired on the spot after a quick 15-minute interview more than 30 years ago. She has been a part of the Beam distillery family ever since, working directly on Booker’s Bourbon to help me ensure every release is up to Dad’s standards and nothing short of the damn good bourbon people know and love.
With a background as a medical technician, Teresa puts her science background to good use for us here in Clermont, Ky. She’s worked in the lab and in Quality Control her whole career here, specifically helping me (and previously Dad) mingle barrel samples together so I can select the best Booker’s batches for bottling. She’s a hard worker, a friend and a pretty impressive taster too! I’m proud to honor her as a token of my thanks, and I know Dad would be too.
If I know Teresa, she’ll probably say all this isn’t necessary. But good people, good bourbon and a job well done is worth celebrating in my book.”
~ Fred Noe, Beam Family’s 7th Generation Master Distiller
TastingNotesDeep amber and henna color. Robust vanilla and caramel notes; slightly smoky on the nose. The whiskey has complex flavors of vanilla, nuts and oak on the palate. The finish is long and full; perfect for easygoing sipping.
