ABOUT

Our latest release of Honey Moonshine is a collaboration with Big Dipper Apiaries, with much of the honey sourced from the Naval Cemetery Landscape right here in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Unlike several commercial honey whiskeys on the market, ours has the real taste of organic honey infused in our sipping-friendly moonshine. We recommend shaking this bottle before consuming as the honey can concentrate toward the bottom over time. It doesn’t get any more local, collaborative, and delicious. Below are some fun facts about the honey used to make this moonshine from Danielle Knott, the owner Big Dipper Apiaries: This honey was foraged/collected by bees within a three mile radius of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, so it's considered to be hyper local. It’s a combination of mostly spring honey with some later fall honey mixed in. The floral notes of spring honey come through while the fall honey brings some golden richness, as later harvests tend to have deeper tasting notes. Danielle practices certified naturally grown beekeeping, meaning her hives are managed without the use of toxic inorganic chemicals. AKA happy and healthy bees, with no traces of inorganic compounds in the honey.
