Kings County Distillery Blender's Reserve
ABOUT
ABOUT
This release is a 7-year straight bourbon pulled from one of every size barrel we have aging (5,10, 15, 30, and 53), showing that both large and small barrels can blend together harmoniously. Out of 51 7-year barrels in consideration, this blend of whiskey is from just five barrels and includes that last 5-gallon bourbon barrel from Kings County, making this blend irreplicable.
This whiskey articulates the very best of our pot-still expression with several qualities of “super-aged” commercial offerings—those double-digit Kentucky whiskeys that are impossible to find. A nose of integrated oak, ripe vine fruits, leather, and malted vanilla opens into a layered palate of dried berry, baker’s chocolate, and winter spice, while an emerging note of tobacco leaf leads to a robust, oak-forward finish. With a small amount of water added, additional caramels and browned oak sugars emerge. Bottled at cask strength, this year’s Blender’s Reserve release is an encapsulation of Ryan and Nathan’s ongoing exploration of the complex relationship between age, cask size, and flavor profile through thoughtful blending. A total of 269 bottles were produced.
