Orphan Barrel Forager's Keep 26 Year Old Single Malt Scotch
ABOUT
ABOUT
The Orphan Barrel team blends limited-edition bottlings from forgotten barrels found in dusty warehouse corners. Thus far, they’ve released Tennessee Whiskeys, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys (like Rhetoric Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey) and Canadian Whiskies (like Entrapment Canadian Whisky). Until now they haven’t released a whiskey from outside North America.
All that changed with the release of Forager’s Keep. This 26-Year Pittyvaich Single Malt Scotch was sourced from one of the shortest-lived Speyside distilleries. In fact, the whisky was actually in the barrel 8 years longer than its distillery was in existence. Pittyvaich closed its doors in 1993, marking the Forager’s Keep release as some of the last barrels they ever distilled.
TastingNotesAromas of fruit and freshly cut, crisp red apple give way to a gentle vanilla creaminess sheltering dense, but distant orange peel for a mellow, warming taste with a hint of wood spices and a sweet finish.
