ABOUT

Antonio Lopes Ribeiro’s Biotite Vinho Verde celebrates the wild beauty of the Minho, named for the biotite-rich volcanic mica that enriches the region’s soils. That dark mineral base gives this wine its unmistakable edge: clean citrus fruit framed by a subtle, elegant petroleum note—a hallmark of this terroir and grape blend when grown in volcanic environments.
Organically farmed Loureiro, Arinto, and Trajadura are harvested early to retain tension, then fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel to preserve clarity. The 2023 vintage shows exceptional lift, layering lime, white flowers, and tart orchard fruit over that signature mineral hum. A faint Atlantic salinity pulses through the wine, making each sip bright, refreshing, and quietly compelling.
It’s a thoughtful, terroir-driven Vinho Verde—more structured and complex than many of its peers, yet still wonderfully easy to drink.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Lime zest, crushed green apple, white blossoms, and a clean petroleum/mineral-oil nuance over volcanic minerality.

Palate: Zesty citrus and orchard fruit carried by lively acidity and a subtle saline twist.

Finish: Dry and refreshing with lingering citrus, mineral crunch, and a faint oily echo.

FOOD PAIRING

Ideal with grilled sardines, oysters, ceviche, prawn rice, or crisp herbal salads. Its acidity, salty edges, and mineral depth brighten seafood dishes and refresh richer Mediterranean flavors.
