ABOUT

Il Torchio's "Stralunato" is an artisanal white wine hailing from the Colli di Luni appellation in Liguria, Italy. This natural wine is a blend of 80% Vermentino and 20% Moscato Bianco, sourced from organically farmed vineyards. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a skin maceration period of approximately one week, imparting a distinctive character to the wine. Following fermentation, "Stralunato" is aged in stainless steel tanks for about six months, allowing it to develop its unique profile

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Aromas of ripe apricot, orange marmalade, and wildflowers are complemented by subtle honeyed notes and a hint of clove spice.

Palate: The wine presents a harmonious balance of freshness and texture, with flavors of juicy citrus fruits and Mediterranean herbs. The skin contact imparts a gentle tannic structure, adding depth and complexity.

Finish: A clean, mineral-driven finish lingers on the palate, showcasing the wine's elegance and the terroir of Liguria.

FOOD PAIRING

"Stralunato" pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes. Its vibrant acidity and aromatic profile make it an excellent companion to shellfish, such as oysters or clams, and lean fish preparations. It also complements pasta dishes with pesto, a Ligurian specialty, and mature, hard cheeses. For a delightful pairing, try it alongside a seafood risotto or a charcuterie board featuring cured meats and aged cheeses.
