ABOUT

The 2023 Quinta Milú Ribera del Duero is a vibrant expression of Spain's esteemed Tempranillo grape, meticulously crafted by winemaker Germán R. Blanco in the village of La Aguilera. Embracing organic viticulture, the vines average 50 years in age and are situated at altitudes between 870 and 908 meters, thriving in clay-limestone soils. Harvested by hand in late September, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, open oak barrels, and large oak vats. The wine is then aged for approximately seven months in seasoned French oak barrels of varying sizes, allowing it to develop depth while preserving its fresh, fruit-forward character. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfur addition, this wine exemplifies a commitment to minimal intervention winemaking

TASTING NOTES

Nose: The bouquet reveals intense aromas of ripe blackberries and cherries, intertwined with subtle notes of anise and cracked black peppercorns, offering a captivating and aromatic profile.

Palate: On the palate, this medium-bodied wine delivers juicy black fruit flavors, complemented by a pleasing purity and soft, supple tannins. The wine's structure is supported by balanced acidity, creating a harmonious and engaging profile.

Finish: The finish is smooth and refreshing, with lingering impressions of dark fruit and a touch of spice, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and depth.

FOOD PAIRING

This versatile Tempranillo pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes. Its balanced acidity and robust character make it an excellent companion to grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Traditional Spanish fare, such as lamb chops, chorizo, or roasted vegetables, are particularly well-suited to complement the wine's rich flavors. For an authentic experience, enjoy it alongside regional specialties like "cochinillo asado" (roast suckling pig) or "morcilla de Burgos" (blood sausage with rice).

Note: Serving at a temperature of 16-18°C (60-64°F) is recommended to fully appreciate the wine's aromatic complexity and balanced structure.
