ABOUT

The Unlitro is a blend of biodynamically grown Mediterranean grapes— Alicante (Grenache), Carignan and Alicante Bouschet—which are ideally suited to southern Tuscany. For me, this delicately pale wine is perfect for summer drinking, and the best way to enjoy it is slightly chilled. The flavors are pure and lively, with no oak to interfere with the myriad aromas of wild flowers, forest fruit, red berries, and subtle spices. There’s a lingering hint of sweetness and refreshing acidity on the finish that makes a happy impression on the palate. The Unlitro is not a wine of power or manipulated intensity; it has an unaggressive transparency that can only come from organic farming, ambient yeast fermentations, and natural, non-manipulative winemaking.

TastingNotes Clear ruby red with purple nuances. Gentle and fruity nose with hints of cherries soaked in alcohol, flowery notes of red roses and, finally, juniper. Warm but adequately fresh taste, tannin-rich and medium lasting flavor. Hints of concrete. An ideal match for chicken morsels cooked with bay leaves.

FoodPairingGreat with chicken, pork, fish, potato salad.
