Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot Crémant du Jura Blanc Non Dosé
ABOUT
ABOUT
As most of the sparkling wines from the region, the Crémants du Jura from Tissot are sold without vintage, which is a shame as some of them are really age-worthy; it would be great to be able to compare vintages and follow up on evolution. So we started with the NV Crémant du Jura Extra Brut that has a golden color with some pink tints, as it’s a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 5% Trousseau, 5% Poulsard with half of the wine fermented in neutral oak barrique and with no dosage. Crémant can be 30% of the whole production of the Jura, and in Tissot, it is also 25%-30% of their volume. This is clean and with very strong aromas of apples, hints of fennel, and aniseed with very pleasant acidity and abundant bubbles. It’s very easy to drink and very pleasant with a mineral, sapid finish. This has to be one of the best Crémants from Jura and certainly a steal among sparkling wines.
TastingNotesLight gold. A smoky bouquet evokes ripe orchard fruits, buttered toast and chamomile. Rich on the palate, offering chewy citrus fruit flavors with a touch of anise. Concentrated but surprisingly light on its feet, this blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir finishes with excellent clarity and persistence.
