1996 Castell'In Villa Chianti Classico Poggio delle Rose Riserva

The Castell'in Villa wines are always released a year to two years after most of their peers. They are one of the oldest estates and have wines in their cellar dating back to 1971. Poggio delle Rose was planted in 1990 with a clonal selection taken from Castell'in Villa's original vineyards. A small amount was produced in 1994, but the first commercial release was the 1996.

The wines display classic aromas and flavors of dried fruits and flowers, minerals and a dusty/earthy core that is uniquely Tuscan.
