2023 Domaine du Pavillon de Cuvee des Ambassades Cote de Brouilly
ABOUT
ABOUT
The 2022 Domaine du Pavillon de Chavannes Cuvée des Ambassades Côte de Brouilly is a refined expression of the historic terroir on the slopes of Mont Brouilly in Burgundy’s Beaujolais region. Crafted exclusively from Gamay vines planted on blue volcanic soils of granite and andesite, this cuvée is produced by the Jambon‑Chanrion family in a domaine dating back to 1861.
Hand‑harvested from high‑elevation parcels, the wine is fermented spontaneously in concrete vats and raised primarily in concrete with minimal use of oak, ensuring purity of fruit and sense of place.
With its deep garnet hue and an ABV around 12.5–13%, this is “very old‑school Gamay … garnet colour, beguiling aromatics, and a burst of refreshment in the mouth.”
The name “Cuvée des Ambassades” stems from the wine’s historical use by the French Ministry for foreign embassies, reflecting its elegant reputation.
