2020 Domaine Ludovic Bonnardot Santenay Rouge
ABOUT
ABOUT
Domaine Ludovic Bonnardot works the southernmost edges of the Côte de Beaune, where Santenay’s marl and limestone slopes shape Pinot Noir into a style that’s both generous and quietly serious.
The 2020 vintage, warm but beautifully balanced, delivered small berries packed with perfume. Hand-picked fruit was fully destemmed, fermented with native yeasts, and allowed a long, gentle maceration to coax fine, polished tannins rather than brute force.
Élevage in a mix of neutral and lightly toasted French barrels added depth without dominating the wine’s mineral backbone. After a year in wood and several months in tank, the wine emerged supple, fragrant, and harmoniously structured—very much Santenay, with that signature combination of red fruit purity and savory, soil-driven nuance.
Each sip brings the sense of a vineyard that breathes: airy cherry, soft earth, subtle spice, and a lifted, stony line that keeps everything bright. This is Burgundy meant for the table—honest, elegant, and beautifully drinkable now, yet capable of evolving gracefully over five to seven years.
