Hector and Pablo Durigutti are the winemakers behind the Aguijon de Abeja wines. Both have backgrounds that are quite complimentary: Hector started at Alto Las Hormigas at the age of 15 and learned new world techniques and agriculture while Pablo started at La Rural, a winery now owned by Catena and learned traditional oenology and viticultural practices.The wines show generous fruit but without excess, New World fruit with Old World elegance, a trademark of Durigutti. The two brothers are amongst the most well known young winemakers in Argentina right now.We chose as our house wines, a former winery dating from 1959. Reinterpreted for new techniques and challenges, we respect the traditional architectural canons achieving a unique winery environment.The area where the winery is located, is the exclusive resort of Las Compuertas in Lujan de Cuyo, for many, the world capital of malbec.Our vision of wines includes a balanced mix of old techniques with modern technologies applied to achieve the optimal wines of our terroir.Fermentation in barrels, pisonage, yeasts, French barrels, hydraulic presses and concrete vats overs coexist and collaborate with manuals, stainless steel tanks and technologies for controlling temperatures, hot and cold pellicular maceration longer, micro-oxygenation, and pH control selection double grains tape applied to the items of the production minimally invasive gravity
