From a .75 hectares parcel in Meursault les Meix Chavaux, bordering Auxey-Duresses. Three equal parts were planted in 2001, 1988 and 1935.
SOIL
Very stony, cool terroir. but with some topsoil so easier to work.
VITICULTURE
Organically farmed, soils are worked, green harvest, all fruit is hand-harvested.
VINIFICATION
Slow pressing, Indigenous yeast fermentation in tank.
AGING
Aged 11 months in 50% tank and 50% wood (30% new) then into tank on the lees for a couple of months before bottling.
PRODUCTION
45 cs annually
NOTES
Given the location near Auxey Duresses, vineyards are cooler and thus allowed to ripen longer on the vine. As a result, it gives the wine good focus, minerality and tension. Otherwise, classic Meursault aromas of ripe apples and pears with a touch of honey and hazelnuts.
