Macallan Edition No. 5 Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Macallan has unveiled the fifth entry in the limited release Edition series. Vatted from American oak casks and bottled of natural color at 48.5% ABV, On the nose, it has vanilla and toffee with notes of oak, nutmeg, ginger, lemon basil and pear. On the palate, it’s fresh and sweet with caramel moving into poached peaches and ripe pear, quickly followed by a toffee sweetness with light oak spices in the form of nutmeg and hints of ginger in the background. The finish is long and sweet.

To celebrate the release of The Macallan Edition No. 5 and the distillery’s commitment to natural color, The Macallan has partnered with the world-renowned color experts at the Pantone Color Institute to create their own color, The Macallan Edition Purple, which is reflected in the packaging of The Macallan Edition No. 5.
