ABOUT

Grand Itata Blanco 2022 springs from 100-year-old bush vines tumbling down steep granitic slopes just 18 km from the Pacific. Winemakers Leo Erazo and Justin Decker pick Semillon, Riesling, and Moscatel together, press the clusters whole, and let native yeasts work slowly in egg-shaped concrete. No fining, filtration, or additives interrupt the process, so the bottle captures raw coastal energy: ripe golden apricot, tangy tangerine peel, and a breeze of jasmine riding zippy seaside acidity. A few months on the fine lees lend satin weight without muting freshness, while the granitic soil flashes through the finish like cool river stone. Chill lightly, pour generously, and taste Chile's forgotten hillsides in every bright, mouth-watering sip.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Apricot skin, white blossom, and bergamot tea glide over hints of wet granite.

Palate: Juicy peach and Meyer-lemon curd sweep across a silky mid-palate, sparked by salty citrus and delicate herbal lift.

Finish: Long, stony, and bone-dry, echoing citrus oil, fennel pollen, and cool mineral spice.

FOOD PAIRING

Excellent with briny seafood, bright salads, and creamy cow’s-milk cheeses—think razor-clams a la plancha, shrimp and citrus ceviche, or a wedge of young Manchego drizzled with olive oil.
