ABOUT

This Ortswein (the second tier in the three tier VDP system) wine comes from grapes grown solely on Bechtheim's finest vineyards.

Clusters are pruned by half in the summer to ensure long and intense ripening on the vine. The remaining ripe grapes are harvested by hand and fermented on skins with wild yeasts. The wines then age in large oak barrels and partly in barriques until bottling at the end of June.
