Allamand Cabernet Sauvignon
ABOUT
ABOUT
Bodegas y Viñedos Luminis’ viticultor, winemaker, and partner, Cristian Allamand is one of the few winemakers in Argentina that spends more time working on the vineyards we use for our wines than at the winery making the wines. The concept of Estate and terroir driven wines in Argentina are completely new and very few wineries are truly making wines under this philosophy. Cristian Allamand is one of those few, making wines under his name from very specific regions and from vineyards he works and/or direct with the whole purpose of making wine with a different personality, with a sense of place, wines that are respectful of their origin. The personal touch that Cristian brings to those places where we grow grapes is one that searches for the elegance, for the natural acidity, for the subtleties of aromas. In sum, Bodegas y Viñedos Luminis’ wines try to show you a different aspect of grape growing and winemaking in Argentina.
TastingNotesThe 2013 vintage was a great year as the vineyard has enjoyed excellent weather conditions and escaped from suffering any pest, hail storm, extremely hot days, etc. These conditions meant that the Allamand Valle de Uco Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 shows more fresh fruit, optimum maturity, and more complexity than the previous years. In the mouth the wine is more serious than the previous vintage showing more body, structure, and power in the palate.
FoodPairingThe classic pairing with Cabernet is lamb, but it goes well with almost any meat—beef, pork, venison, even rabbit.
