Buchegger Pinot Noir Rose
ABOUT
ABOUT
Established in 1893 with a full set of un-cloned vines, Buchegger is located in Austria's north-eastern region of Kremstal (about 30 miles north of Vienna). Today, the sixth generation under Walter Buchegger continues the ancestors' traditions on 25 acres inherited from his parents in 1994. Using a strict form of Austrian organic farming called 'Integrated Process', Walter eschews machinery in the vineyards and limits even natural remedies like copper sulfite. Terrassen is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir complemented with 25% each Zweigelt and Merlot.
TastingNotesHigh-pitched aromas of strawberry, orange zest and white flowers, with a dusty mineral overtone. Dry and light-bodied, offering tangy red fruit flavors and a bracing note of white pepper. Closes on a firm note, with good length and a touch of candied ginger.
FoodPairingPairs well with almost any summer food such salads, cold meats, and antipasti, as well as Asian and German fare.
