Thirteenth Colony Southern Sour Mash Whiskey
ABOUT
ABOUT
The Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey is a wheated mash bill, aged in new charred oak barrels, along with the other ABC's required to be awarded the title of bourbon, and is created with water sourced from Georgia's oldest aquifer, which is naturally filtered by the limestone and dolomite created during the Paleocene and early Miocene periods some 56 million years ago. So, look at that! Georgia heat for aging limestone filtered water. Look out, Kentucky! A new contender has entered the ring.
Nose: Sweet wheat, caramel, medium oak, a hint of nuttiness, and maybe we can call it cherry.
Palate: Corn, Vanilla, Caramel, the usual suspects show up, which are very pleasing
Finish: This is where the money comes in—heavy oak and spice with some nuttiness and brown sugar.
